You were happy the show was back, and though it wasn’t as funny as the best episodes, it was still entertaining at worst and hilarious at best. At best, I was dying laughing (Butt-Head’s dream, “I was never worried that it would.”).įeel like the best comp for Do the Universe are those Futurama movies. I felt like Do America was made like a big screen, big deal movie, and Do the Universe was made like a movie for a streaming network.Īt worst, I was entertained with a smile on my face just glad to be watching a new Beavis and Butt-Head. Like when Beavis turned into the Cornholio, it for some reason wasn’t treated as a hype moment that we haven’t had in a really long time. There also wasn’t a lot of “we’re finally back” kind of fanfare, which probably would've made the movie more hype.
I didn’t expect much though, I figured Mike Judge had to find his groove again, and yeah, some parts weren’t up to the standards of Do America or as funny as, for instance, the episode where Beavis thinks he’s pregnant. The announcement of this movie for me was like when everyone came out of the portals in Endgame. Do America and the later seasons of the show are on my comedy Mount Rushmore. This movie was a huge deal for me having been a kid in the 90s.
